Having begun his career in Shopping Centre leasing, Iain cut his teeth in remixing World Square Shopping Centre and understands the drivers of both tenants and landlords to achieve sustainable lease agreements, built on long term partnerships. In 2011, Iain joined global fitness chain Anytime Fitness in their leasing team before rising through the ranks to National Club Development Manager, managing a team of 11 to deliver over 300 new clubs and 400 sold franchises over a 4-year period. Remaining with the Brand, Iain then moved to Sweden as Chief Operating Officer, focused on establishing Anytime Fitness in Northern Europe and managing the business from market analysis to network and product development.

Returning to Australia in 2019, Iain was appointed Head of Distribution and Real Estate ANZ for Swarovski, responsible for the management of their network of 72 stores and over 150 multi-brand partnerships. Focused on optimizing the portfolio, Iain developed and implemented a Distribution Master Plan and delivered $1.1m in hard rent savings, reducing occupancy costs by over 5 percentage points. With the onset of COVID, Iain led the business’ response, partnering with landlords to deliver a further $2.5m in rental savings in FY21. Iain acted as Project Lead during Swarovski’s 2020 transformational brand elevation, orchestrating the ANZ market business plan, and presenting to the Global Management Board.

Iain was appointed General Manager, Development for Mad Mex in 2021, a local Mexican restaurant chain of 70 locations operating across various formats. Responsible for Franchising, Real Estate, Design, Construction and Legal Compliance, Iain opened 17 new locations in 18 months and optimized the portfolio, negotiating the closure of 10 loss making restaurants.

In January 2023, Iain was appointed Chief Development Officer of Pizza Hut Australia, attracted by the white space opportunity and nostalgia of the brand. The role is a “full circle” moment, as Iain’s first job as a 15-year-old was at Pizza Hut’s Castle Hill restaurant; a location which is still owned by the same franchisee today.

"})' href="#">
